Morning & Afternoon Garden Visits
We’ll begin the day with a visit to the garden of Roland and Liliane Leclercq in Tourbes, both active members of Mediterranean Gardening France. Coffee will be served on arrival at 10:30, and we’re warmly invited to enjoy our picnic lunch in their remarkable garden. (Please bring your own picnic.) In the afternoon, we will head to Pépinière Filippi, approximately a 30-minute drive from Tourbes, where we’re expected at 14:30. Celia, the nursery manager, will introduce us to the site, followed by a private tour of the garden led by Monsieur Filippi himself.
Olivier Filippi is internationally renowned as a leading authority on dry Mediterranean gardening and the author of three acclaimed books on the subject, published in both French and English. He no longer offers guided visits to the general public but only to botanists and serious gardeners. We have managed to persuade him that we fall into this category!
As parking is limited, please let me know if you’re interested in car sharing, and I’ll help coordinate. Also, kindly inform me if you’re only able to join for either the morning or afternoon session. Directions to both locations will be shared with registered participants closer to the date.
