Discovering seven thousand years of the Minervois: guided tour of the Musée Archéologique, Olonzac
Join us for a rare guided visit and follow the development of the region with a changing population, innovative technologies, new cultures and religions.
The museum's collection bears witness to over seven thousand years of human life in the Minervois, from the dawn of the Palaeolithic Age around five thousand years BC through to the end of the Roman Empire, and, in the geological collection with its fossil records, to times far older still. Gathered by both archaeological experts and local amateurs, the objects on display offer a window into how people once lived here in very different circumstances, and how the landscape around us has changed over time.
We'll keep the group small, as space is limited. The tour will be given in French, with some help on hand for our English-speaking members.
Open to VEEM members only.
