French level A2 with Derek Stubbs
This is a pre-intermediate level class, suitable for those moving on from A1+ or who already have basic skills. You will be able to make yourself understood and talk about ordinary and practical situations that you are familiar with.
This workshop doesn't follow a strict curriculum, but covers many aspects of the French language, vocabulary, grammar, and (very importantly) pronunciation, with the aim of deepening participants' knowledge, appreciation, and everyday skills in speaking, reading, listening, and writing. Although classified as A2, the group works together in a spirit of mutual support across varying levels. Beyond the language itself, participants deepen their knowledge of French history and culture through films, songs, conversation, role-play, dictation, and occasional group outings to museums, exhibitions, or restaurants. Supplementary homework helps support progress between sessions.
Derek has been teaching at VEEM since 2011.
