Gabriele Bryant will be giving an illustrated talk about the successes and failures she has had in her own fruit and vegetable garden, followed by a discussion with the group as to what has worked well/not so well for them too. She is an experienced gardener who researched Mediterranean gardening before moving to Capestang three years ago. She has now adapted her plantings and method of culture to take account of our hot summers, intense sunshine and summer drought.

Gabriele moved to Capestang in the summer of 2022 and took over a relatively large, slightly overgrown garden. She has had many years of gardening experience in Switzerland, the USA and Japan. She spent her first year  gathering observations and insights and began to redesign her garden to adapt it to the climate.

Gabriele is co-admin of the Facebook Group 'The Hérault Gardener' and also writes a blog about her garden, in which she describes what works for her and what doesn't.

The talk will be given primarily in English with some French translation to accompany her slides.

The talk will take place at the VEEM office in Olonzac and refreshments will be served. There is a nominal charge of 5 euros to cover expenses.

Members only.
